If you are in an Uber and they take you a longer way, or get lost, you can send Uber a message. Tell them where you started, where you were going, and how far out of the way the driver went. Uber will refund you the difference between the amount you were charged, and what the ride should have cost had the driver not gotten lost, gone the wrong way, or whatever happened.

I did send Uber an email yesterday about the issue and they took $3 off the tab, replied within 3 minutes of the email. This wasn't a big issue but it got resolved nonetheless.

Exactly. I've had good and bad uber experiences but they weigh heavily toward the good side. Same with traditional cabs but they lean toward the bad side.
