You guys who have gone to the doctor and had it drained- how long did you wait before going to see someone? Did you go to urgent care? Your PCP? If it isn’t better tomorrow im going to have to see someone. But I’m scared shitless of the surgery recovery although mine doesn’t seem like it’s quite as big as some people report with the terrible surgery/recovery stories.

The surgery recovery process sounds medieval. I would only go through that ordeal if the cyst keeps coming back (after you have it lanced).

So- file this under immaculate timing. Last night after I posted about my Pilonidal cyst, I was laying in bed. I went to (gingerly) turn over from one side to the next and something felt weird.

I checked and the damn thing had burst on its own. It was a vile concoction that was coming out. I cleaned up and in a moment of inspiration remembered we had some adult briefs left from my dad being on hospice last year. I put those on and went to bed. Woke up this morning to a dry clean bed. And that, kids, is how I ended up wearing a diaper to bed last night.

I may still go see the doctor to make sure the damn thing isn’t too big to effectively heal on its own or to make sure I don’t need an antibiotic.

I had deep zit/clogged poor finally crest and got it to shoot out after probably 6 months of trying to get it. Then yesterday was able to get a near by ingrown hair out that pulled more zit stuff with it. Very satisfing week on the zit front.

I had one about the size of a nickel form on my shoulder in my mid 20s. Didn’t have insurance, so had one of my good friends cut it out with a razor blade as I bit down on leather.

Scotch Irish Appalachians are tough as nails, I reckon.
