And a fellow Georgia boy. The pride of Newnan.
One of my favorites. He has had so many great songs(wrote a vast majority of them), but this one IMO is criminally underrated...
Midnight in Montgomery.

His walkoff after performing a stanza and chorus to George Jones’ “Choices” during his slot was legendary (after CMAs told Jones he couldn’t sing the whole song, he pulled himself out of the program).
And in true legend form Jackson was sure to run his “Pop a Top” through the guitar solo so his guitarist could have that opportunity before switching to “Choices.”

“Chasing that neon rainbow” is my absolute fav of him and that’s gonna get me downvotes.

Where were you, when they built that ladder to heaven

I always laugh when I hear the opening lyrics of "Home" and he sings, "In A small town down in Georgia, over 40 years ago" b/c Newnan isn't small anymore.
The population of that city has nearly quadrupled since 1990.From 12,497 in '90 to 42,549 in '20. I wouldn't be shocked if it's pushing 50K now. That town has absolutely exploded.

Here’s another troll he did to the CMAs, when he first came on the scene. The CMAs wanted him to sing “Gone Country” to a pre-recorded track so he had his drummer act like he was drumming without sticks. It looks exactly like you can imagine it looks
no sticks lol
no sticks lol

When the tornado hit Newnan in 2022 he was watching the TV up in Nashville when it came across the news and he told Denise that he needed to do something for his hometown.
2 weeks later he did a free benefit concert for the tornado victims at the Coweta County Fairgrounds.
I tried to get tickets but that sucker sold out in literally 5 minutes.
That's class.....

It’s a shame he’ll likely never play again. One of the best to ever do it.

Is he sick?
Yep.

To be fair he's always been a shy man. Some people confuse that for aloofness or arrogance.
