He is saying people did it without having an official government mandate

Wrong again.

If the mask mandate had a greater role in controlling the spread, then we would've expected to see a steeper increase in cases and deaths in Jefferson Parish than in Orleans Parish.

But the current data does not corroborate that theory, at least not in Louisiana.

Dude the entire thread is basically him saying he thinks we've reached limited herd immunity. Maybe the masks helped that, maybe they didn't but they weren't the main cause of the slowdown. I thought yall libs were basically saying NOBODY WEARING DA MASK so you could get a LaToya mandate. And Chinese dude who's smart basically says what we've all known the entire time: cloth mask dont stop no covid. Let's ask Sweden.

First time in my life I have been called a lib.

Unbelievable how both sides just want any data to fit their narrative. Bizarre as hell.

I will summarize and you can do whatever you want with it.

Having about 20 percent infected plus social distancing and masks is going to tank this (that is population immunity). Why this combination pisses so many people off makes no sense.

Which one of those three things is important in your opinion my dude?

All of them. If we get rid of social distancing and masks right now the 20 percent won’t be enough. Read Gu’s thread again.

He said he estimates 20% of Orleans had it on May 1. And he clearly thinks the level of infections is much more important than mask etc. Bro you're just pimping your mask position. Go yell at some neck in the aisle at Wal-Mart.

“Caveat #3: The effects of immunity are likely strongly conditioned on the current level of social distancing and behavior.

If society were to "return to normal", then the effects of such immunity would be significantly reduced as the rate of transmission increases.”

You just don’t have the want/ability to pay attention to the entire picture he is presenting. I can’t help you with that.
