Looks like a mangrove snapper or small Red Snapper or Vermillion snapper.

Where’d you get it?

That’s what it was. I didn’t know there was a difference. They also had some triple tail and pompano.

It’s illegal to sell redfish in the stores.

There’s a huge difference beteeen Redfish and Red Snapper.

You should have bought the Triple Tail

Paul, all you have to do is call ole pal. You and Mrs Allen are always welcome over to the summer house where Redfish is always fresh and on the menu. Please don’t ever hesitate to ask. Our door is always open.

Filet it and either cook it on stove in a pan or in the oven. I don’t have a recipe to share because I don’t catch a whole lot of Triple Tail, I’ve eaten it plenty and imo is one of the best tasting fish in the gom.

Bush could probably give you a good recipe, he catches them all the time.
