You know I got a million stories. Years back I had my place on the water, Pierre Part/Belle River. I have friends and relatives that work with the COE in Vicksburg. One of my relatives was over the Mississippi River. He’s telling me about opening the Spillway, how it would affect my place. Giving me a crest date. I tell him to move that date back. He’s telling me what the computer models are telling him. I said that they will lose a few feet of water, for every acre. I told him, up North they had been getting rain, us, not so much. The Atchafalaya was dry, cracks in the land, trees in need of water. The crest date kept being moved back and the computer programs were wrong.
I did put a water gauge stick at my place to monitor the rise and fall.
