What is the point of St. Patrick's Day?
To kill snakes?
Again, I have never once celebrated. Not that I'm against it, just never celebrated or went to a parade.

Um - read a good history book? Too much to explain here.
My family has always gone overboard with the Irish heritage

12yrs of Catholic schooling. From what I remember, it is a little overblown.
Edt: also don't remember much from it but did listen to a "stuff you should know" episode with Josh and chuck

GM GRT
Yotê, the point is a reason to celebrate the freeing of Ireland, also known as The Emerald Isle (emeralds are usually green) from the instigator of original sin and drink green beers.
Four leaf clovers are also green and grow in Ireland so green is the colour of the day.

The snake was the instigator of the original sin, enticing Eve to eat the forbidden fruit.
St. Patrick got rid of them all.
