They are projecting significant power outages because we're gonna have near hurricane force winds and the snow is full of moisture and will, therefore be very sticky.
When it is wet and sticky it sticks to trees and powerlines. Add in 60MPH winds and they come down.

Hurricane weather during a blizzard sounds horrible.

Weather Channel is projecting 18" of snow for most of the northeast.

Good Morning Gang
Taco Tuesday

Stella!! Zero chance I'm making snow angels today or that work is closed due to inclement weather.

Thanks Soldier.

That huge green storm in the Atlantic on your map is actually starting to centralize and rotate just to our south now.

You can see the "arm" of Cape Cod sticking out from Massachusetts...I'm right next to that in Providence. It's coming my way for sure.

Mornin' Bullfrog

It's only 48 here and clear skies. I'm going to enjoy the cool air because I got a feeling it's gonna get hot and humid once the storm up north passes through.

It's a monster... The gradient over NYC and PHI is so tight, just a slight deviation could mean the difference between Rain, 1 inch and 2 feet of snow.

Isaac did the same thing to NOLA in 2012. It just rotate and dumped massive amounts of water even as a weak Cat 1. But it just hovered for two days or so raining.

Hope y'all have supplies and a generator with fuel just in case.

Heck, I drank my coffee on the patio about an hour ago. Cool and no wind. Had went to let the dogs out a few minutes ago and now the wind is blowing it's arse off.

Soldier, they put me on another new drug. I'm still trying to get used to it. Got my head pounding and swimming. The good side of it, It's helping getting the fluid out of me. In 3 days of taking it, I pulled off 6 lbs. All fluid.

Glad to hear you're hanging in there fish

Wish I could drop 6 lbs of fluid but I'd have to give up beer

Went shopping yesterday. No work today, they're telling us to stay off the road. Might run out quick before it starts flying to grab some beer.
I'm in a high rise in the city and we have a generator in the building. Also, in the city our utilities are underground so that lessens my chance of power outage...fingers crossed!

This is good news Fish. I get headaches if I'm dehydrated...wonder if that's why your head hurts?
