It smells horrible 
First time my wife used it for cooking she thought she bought an expired carton so she poured it out and went to the store to buy another one. Luckily I caught on her on the third bottle and explained what was going on.
She was about to call the store manager and complain.

Agreed. Cold french fries are the worst. I see people leave restaurants with uneaten french fries in a carryout box - they're no good even if you reheat them.

It's easy. I just write the directions down on a note card for whatever recipe I'm trying and go through it step by step. After I try it, I write in my own spices I'll use next time.
The key is to use peanut oil for frying in a 10 quart Dutch oven pot that is well seasoned.
