Today sucks. My dad decided to take a bunch of pills yesterday. He’s now in the hospital with a sitter. I’m assuming once he is medically stabilized will be transferred to inpatient psych.

I hate my life

Wow so sorry to hear that nurse

But to put a positive spin on things, it may be the best thing that could happen getting him in inpatient psych since his docs are taking so long to get his meds right

In the hospital they’ll be able to get him stabilized much more quickly

Morning Berg, Liz. Nurse :cheers

Sorry Nurse. But your Dad has a lot of reasons to be depressed. And usually guys taking pills is a cry for help rather than an actual I want to kill myself. Your Dad is in that age where he would feel ashamed to say "I'm depressed and need to talk to somebody"
But Y'all are in my prayers

My thoughts, as well. Around the clock care may improve matters. I know that doesn't help right now and my thoughts are with you.

Thanks guys. I’m just kinda numb and mostly angry.

I just talked to him Saturday. Told him how super stressed out I’ve been over IVF stuff lately and how I may need more surgeries before I can actually do it. He seemed ok when I talked to him. We talked about his upcoming doctor’s appointments.

Many of us are walking around and mentally fallen. I hope the VA can open it’s doors wider for those vets struggling today.

Happy Memorial Day

I understand your anger. He seems like he is crying out for attention. He lost a lot at an old age.
Thoughts your way, nursie

Well we don’t know what he took. But it couldn’t have been a ton cause he was awake all day yesterday. He was just hard to understand and basically dead weight when you tried getting him up.

My poor sister called me yesterday afternoon cause she said my dad wouldn’t get up off floor. He was just laying there awake the whole time. My mom was at work (she thought my dad was just doing his attention seeking thing he does saying he can’t bring her to work so she took a cab to work).

He does attention seeking stuff alllllll the time. He’s “cried wolf” so many times to us and the doctors it’s hard to take him seriously anymore

Unfortunately the VA is terrible . It's a disgrace the way we treat veterans

I understand what you’re saying

But he’s likely crying wolf because he’s miserable and needs help and doesn’t know how to get it
