I recently bought a food/bar trailer for my catering business and could use some help picking out the right size generator. Admittedly, electrical confuses the hell out of me so I was wondering if I could get some help?

From the manufacturer:
quote:

The electrical capacity of the trailer is 50amps and 11,000 watts.

Equipment-wise, you have a water heater (120v, 12 amps max), 1 water pump (110v, 1.2 amps max), 1 air conditioning unit (110v, 15 amps max) and lighting (110v, 5 amps max total).

The above equipment totals to 33.2 amps max, but only if everything is drawing power in full.

How many watts do I need?

Are the "quiet" generators really worth it?

Any brands to avoid?

TIA

Should use the other 16.8 amps to have a disco ball and strobe lights. Make a scene.

You’re gonna need at least 10K running watts. So that’s prob gonna be a 12-13 K start up. You have a 50 amp plug for it? Or is it direct wired in?

I have a firman for my rv, but it’s not exactly quiet. That wasn’t really something I was needing. Typically the quieter ones are even more expensive.

We have a little pigtail adapter that plugs in as needed to standard wall outlets.

Will probably run direct wire to the generator because we need a lot of juice
