That's what I had figured based on the reading I've done.

I downloaded an app that would supposedly let you know if one was around, but I don't know if it was worth a shite. Probably not, it was free.

Not that I'm losing sleep. Anyone running surveillance on me would be bored to tears.

You would leave the app on for a period of a few days for it to "learn" the ID #s of the towers in the areas you frequent.

After the learning period is up you would let it run in the background and if that tower ID # changed (like if a stingray was posing as a tower) then it would alert you.

This was back when all the Snowden stuff was pretty big when the movie first came out so I figured I would give it a try.
