I will cry on occasion, but not very often. If the situation calls for emotion I will show emotion.

I was wondering the same thing.

I'll cry at sad movies but I don't think I've ever cried over any current tragedies/shootings shown on tv unless I knew the person involved.

This didn't directly effect me but it was a senseless act of violence that seems to happen more often. I think when people do stop responding to it is a true sign that is world is totally fricked.

Just being overly dramatic IMO unless it's friends Or family

Then they can go tell people at work or the internet that they cried all night over it

Big difference between emotionally responding and crying so much your eyes are swollen shut.

Not that I think it's wrong that you cried, just saying it seems a little over the top if you didn't know anyone who was involved.

So something usually fake and made up makes you cry but something as real and tragic does not? Suppose they make that event into a movie and it will more than likely be sad, you would cry then? They still aren't directory related to you in anyway.

I take that back.....only event I do actually remember crying was 9/11

But it was more tearing up while watching all the footage vs sobbing my eyes out type of thing.

It's OK that you cried. You're a woman with weak little womanly emotions... it's natural. If you were a man it would just be gay.

Many sad movies can make you feel a connection much more than a news station. Even though it's a fake event, it can trigger real emotional responses to the situation.

Over the top?
Who are you to say how something or someone should be effected ot touched by tragedy or what is normal?

Exactly. Many times you have gotten to know the characters in the film so you connect with them.

And this did in me.
What the frick is the big deal? It connected with me because just last year my son went to the movies weekly during the summer. You think that would be a safe environment. You think things like that wouldn't happen so close to home.
