I put 135,000 miles on a 5.4 F150 and the only issues were the water pump and I had to repair a vacuum reservoir. Overall, I loved the truck and it felt more powerful than the newer 5.0s. It could pull a load all day with no issues.

Do NOT buy a 3v 5.4L engine.

Honestly I would never buy a used 5.4 Triton. Ours has 150,000 and runs perfect, but bought it new in 2014 and never been late on an oil change. Makes all the difference in the world on that engine.

Don’t buy a 5.4, terrible engine

Not all 5.4s are bad. It's the three valve engines that you run from.
