For all the bashing that people unleash on lawyers (often deservedly so) and Alabama (most certainly so), had to post this:
(SOLACE, Support of Lawyers/Legal Personnel-All Concern Encouraged, is a support program coordinated by the Louisiana State Bar Association.)

quote:
Dear SOLACE Members,
Even though it is impractical to send follow up reports on each of our numerous requests, SOLACE wants to share one with you.
Tuesday afternoon we sent you a request on behalf of Olivia, a 10 year old terminally ill child, and her family, who had to be evacuated from their home in Denham Springs. The family lost most of Olivia's supplies in the flood. The request is below.
Literally overnight, at 10:11 Wednesday morning, in response to the SOLACE request, we received the following message from Sandy Roberts, an LSBA member who now works for the City of Birmingham. Sandy reached out to the Birmingham government officials for assistance:
" UPDATE: The City of Birmingham EMA official contacted me to say that all the items on the list for the terminally ill child have been sent by Amazon.
Thanks,
Sandy "
