We trick ourselves with little enclaves we consider nice areas to live in, but as a rule, you are correct sir. It really isn’t. The other day, I had my brother come to visit and as we drove down Coursey, Jones Creek, and the like, he was shocked at just how many nail salons, smoke shops, massage parlors, and just plain rinky dinky stores were taking up otherwise vast swaths of empty strip malls begging for someone to invest, and this is in one of the nicer areas of town, or what we always considered it as such. It’s just no joy in watching a city you grew up in commit suicide right in front of your very eyes.
