re: Ever use a work trip as a personal vacation?

I used to work for CNN (low-level marketing position where I had to travel often) and we were given up to $25 per down for breakfast and lunch and $50 for dinner if we were scheduled to be on travel days.

They never wanted receipts unless you went over your per diem (because you were with clients). I would just get gift cards for $24 and between $45-47 respectively every day.

I lived off of those for 3 years after I left the company
