Someone I know is asking me to replace the felt seal on their kenmore 500 series dryer. Everything I am looking at online there is an upper and rear seal. How do I determine which one needs to be replaced? Seems like the upper is much easier.

I had to do this once on an old dryer. While you have the drum out, you may as well change both. They aren’t that expensive but I do remember it being a bitch to get on and off especially with trying to not get the adhesive everywhere. Also make sure the little bearings don’t need to be replaced while you have everything taken apart.
