We should have taken Churchill's and Patton's [shortly died afterwards] advice and pre-preemptively attacked the USSR, starting WW3. The world would be a much more peaceful place like:
-No Korean war
-nor Vietnam
-nuclear armed Pakistan, India, China, NK
-more peace in the middle east because of less proxy wars
