Does St. Joseph Peninsula survive this hurricane?

Looks like it will be in the eye of the storm. I would think it will at least get chopped into a few pieces.

Have friends in an area called Port St. Joe. They are posting on FB and are very under whelmed at what is being reported on Weather Channels verus real time wind speeds. They still have electricity, moderate surge about 4 to 5 ft lower level of thier condo that is 1/2 mile from beach. Wind is steady and strong but no where near blowing you down just pushes you along so to speak.

Was there on the cape (Cape San Blas) this summer. Neat spot. Hope it makes it through the storm okay

So 1/2 mile from beach there is a 4-5ft surge? thats a fairly decent surge so far if so.
