That's not how any of this works. When you are in charge, you pick your type for the bench. It reflects the will of the people at that time, no?

I understand your point, LCA and have no real argument with it. Garland is a fine judge and I thought he should have gotten an up or down vote. The Rs played politics with him just like the Ds screwed Bork who was qualified to sit as a Justice on the Supreme Court.
But I doubt Garland will ever be nominated by Trump. Hos promise was to pick someone from his list and has done so twice.

I think that was attributed to Babe Ruth when he remarked about the President, "I had a better year." I might be wrong.
