Back in the 1980's I remember there being strong rumors that Disney was looking to build a park somewhere in central Texas near Austin.
Supposedly with the oil bust of the mid 80's, they changed their mind and decided to focus on building overseas. Don't know how factual the rumor really was, I just remember hearing about it when I was in high school.

Lol, they are 15 minutes apart from each other in the same orlando-kissimee metro area, seems nitpicky to emphasize which town goes on the postcard...
