I’ve lived in St. Martin and live close to OS. I’m down there very often. I’ve also had immediate family who lived in the area back in the early 00s, so I’ve been around to see a noticeable change.
The homeless encampment is behind Winn-Dixie.
I’m not saying OS is BR or NOLA. If I were to start over, I’d still consider raising a family there, but I would be a little more selective than in the past. One can still admire the many great aspects of OS while also acknowledging some changing elements.

Did you see the dude that did the shooting at The Julep room? He is from Gulfport. Riff-Raff. Any ideas of how to keep these people from the surrounding cities from coming over? A wall to protect our utopia? Haha

No, I hadn't seen a pic of the actual shooter until just now. I was wondering who the hell would shoot someone at The Julep Room of all places. That's my favorite spot in OS.
Unfortunately, I think this is all just the inevitable fate of nicer things. It's the societal rot we've come to live in. People never let an opportunity to destroy something nice go to waste.

Never go around that area ha.
Only ever go downtown or out toward rouses/hospital.
I've always wondered where the dumps were at in OS.

I will go check it out this weekend. I thought it was all houses and nice houses at that behind Winn-Dixie. I didn’t even know they had extra space back there.
