Same reason folks want to wear watches that cost more than $3,000 when much cheaper watches or your phone will do the same thing. It doesn’t hurt to reward yourself with expensive stuff now and then.

On the downside, why advertise to some thug in a parking lot that you have money by carrying around or wearing stuff worth stealing? Let her buy the purse and you buy her a gun to carry inside.
