Isn't it still the states right to take it down? Pretty sure it is. How does your life change if the state decides to take it down? Why is this flag such a big deal to those that are not emotionally affected by it?
I don't think you understand my point. If the state decides to take it down because it feels it's the right thing to do then I have no problem whatsoever . Do you think it is right for people outside the state of SC ,who never planned on going to that state, to demand that the state do something ???

What someone outside of SC says is only an opinion, and not any power. I wish that Texas would stfu with it's sense of self-righteousness, and flying it's state flag at the same height as the US flag. I also think CA makes some of the most ridiculous development laws that impede sound business. But my opinion of them unfricking themselves has no true merit. SC's governor, like NC's and VA's have all said they would like it down. Don't bitch about what some random internet comments say, bitch about what the state elected officials say. But that would go against the whole "state's rights" line that everyone keeps saying.

The 3 branches of government's actions has me thinking they should take down the u.s. flag and I should move there. Fuk all you haters of conservative white man.

The people who are demanding that the government order the flag to be taken down are extremely naive IMO. Put it up for a vote, like you are in a democracy, and if it offends enough people it will be voted to be removed.
I am far from a supporter of the confederate flag, and I believe it reflects negatively on people that advertise it blatantly in public. But by demanding for it to be taken down immediately and turning the issue into a spectacle, you are turning something that is often used to symbolize racism, but not always, into a rallying point for all racists

I agree. That doesn't mean attention to that symbol isn't warranted, though. I happen to agree with Bree and the others who are offended by the presence of the flag. And hell, I'm a white southerner.
That's twice you've mentioned that you're white....based on your posts, I seriously doubt this!

I think it was always a rallying point for racists. What this is doing, however , is turning it into a rallying point for those of us who aren't racist.....

True, I should have worded that better. I was more referring to how the situation itself has basically brought all racists together when it wasn't even an issue in the first place, and screws over people who aren't racist and see it as a symbol of cultural pride

That may be exactly what the liberal machine wants, to put all their enemies in the same group

Yes props to her because it will change everything for black people. Let's see how many dozen get shot in Chicago this weekend without any of them giving one frick.
Brilliant analysis, Mr. Strawman!

like when southern states didn't want to desegregate schools, churches, and other places and displayed the confederate battle flag in protest of the federal government?
really tired of all of the lying about this flag

Oh, it was the fact that there were pictures in his life and in these pictures there were objects, and in these pictures all of the focus went to the confederate flag, which was only one symbol amongst many?
That is the recent event? Might as well deem the make and model of his car as being one that racists prefer if that is the claim.
The shooter wasn't racist...he hated America too.
same guy for comparison
This isn't about the battle flag...it's about a nut job who gave a bunch of racists the opportunity to push their race baiting agenda
