Blue collar no contest. Start a business after you spend a few years learning and performing the trade. Then start your trade business after a few years scale it up. Service industry will survive AI in the short term. This can be done with low start up cost. Once you stack 5 years of growth sell it.

A business degree won't teach him shite how to run a business. Working for an electrician, figuring out what works (scheduling, tech pay, etc.) and what doesn't will be the best teacher. Then he buys a business from someone that is retiring using an SBA loan.
