Once you raise a kid of your own, you develop an ability to block it out.

Also, noise cancelling headphones are your friend when flying.

I think he wasn't he asking if you've ever flown with your own child. Sorry you're incapable of reading comprehension.

Why would my flying with my own child change anything about the way it is inconveniencing others?

Sorry you're incapable of applying logic and reason to your arguments. You're 0 for 3 in this thread.

I think I would rather sit next to a crying baby than an obnoxious, drunk adult that wants to tell me his/her life story.

If you believe that, start screaming the next time you're on an airplane. Let me know how that works out for you.

Because maybe it would cause you to have a little bit of compassion and understanding?

I would imagine most parents plan ahead and try to do whatever they can to keep their children quiet on the flight.

I've only taken two trips with my two year old son that required flying.

Each time we chose flights that were during his normal nap schedule. He fell asleep very easily. One connection he was awake, but we were able to keep him entertained with snacks and books.

On our last trip we brought his car seat on board, and that seemed to keep him especially calm.

For those of you flying without kids: invest in a quality pair of headphones. Wrestling a screaming kid is far worse on the parents.

How would compassion and understanding change anything about my inconveniencing others? Again, this is an argument based on feelings, not logic.

Why is it too much to ask that a parent takes the child to the bathroom until it calms down? Is it because that would be an inconvenience to the parent?

If allowed to, take the baby to the bathroom and try not to be a worthless parent.

If I start screaming uncontrollably on an airplane, I'll be detained and removed upon landing.

If a baby starts screaming uncontrollably (as babies often do) everyone sits there miserable and pretends like that's part of the experience they paid for.

If your baby is crying, get the frick up, go to the bathroom and calm your baby down. I'm not just talking about newborns. I'm talking about 5 year olds kicking screaming and acting like little monsters and the parents just sit there.

If the parents refuse to take the child to the restroom until calm, the airline should ban the parents from flying with children ever again.

What the frick are you flying and in 2017 why don't you have something from your phone shoved in your ears?

I have flown monthly for over 50 years and seldom do I encounter a crying baby. I encounter drunk douchebags and people that don't bathe much more frequently.

you keep saying "take your kid to the bathroom stall". have you been in an airplane bathroom stall? it's barely large enough for one person, much two, one of which is incoherently screaming.

You mean the teeny tiny closet that is considered an airplane bathroom? Yeah that is a totally soothing environment that will help calm a baby/child.

Also...wouldn't picking up the child, wrestling to get them out of their seat, while they are kicking and screaming just make the child more agitated?

shite happens...it isn't always about you. Sometimes life makes things inconvenient for you. Suck it up, but some headphones on, and just be glad you are not that parent in that moment.

It isnt your private plane, asshat. They paid tickets too.

Sorry you cant read the new yorker or skymall for an hour or two in the quietness of your lonely, empty, unsatisfying house.

Here is logic

The airline has determined its more profitable to cater to parents and let babies cry on flights than it is to ban them to make people like you more comfortable while traveling.

Free market at work

Maybe you should start an adults only airline and see how it works out

sounds like it'd be really inconvenient to try to fit yourself and your screaming brat into the bathroom. Sorry not sorry. You'd prefer to inconvenience an entire airplane.
