I don't think so. The other way makes more sense without any other info.

U.S. Presidents had a really weird run from 1865 to 1900 - a span of 10 Presidents, 3 were shot and killed at close range.

There was a similar bad time from 1933 to 1981 - a span of 9 Presidents - 2 had folks get a good clear shot at them (although it is arguable whether or not FDR was the intended target in his case), but missed, 1 was shot and killed, another was shot at close range and survived, and a 5th in this group was the subject of a significant assault by Puerto Rican separatists - the only such example of a U.S. President having a confirmed, no $hit assassination attempt by a group of individuals (notwithstanding the people around Boothe).
