I just heard Kyle Spring died of a heart attack in Angola. I always thought the old baw got a bad deal. Stupidly tried to defend himself and was eaten alive in court.

Murder conviction

Slippery Pete was an expert at electrical sockets or “holes”.

Spring shot an unarmed man in the chest point blank with an assault rifle.

State vs Kyle Spring

Hope I’m remembering correctly, but Spring was a veteran with issues. Drank a lot. Went to the bar and was acting out. The owner’s brother was the bouncer. Took him outside and beat the crap out of him and came after him with a gun. Spring crawled into his truck, pulled his weapon and fired back when the guy came at him as he was trying to leave. He had eyewitnesses that bailed on him at trial because the family had “connections”. Witness felt guilty, came back, and there was an appeal. Denied.

Witnesses said otherwise, but said it too late. I don’t know any of these people, so who knows, but the case was interesting enough that I sort of followed it. Bar owners rumored to be a crime family with connections to the judge. Who knows. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle.

Andy Tridicio and Donald Russell. Russell didn’t come forward until appeal. He had left the scene due to an outstanding warrant, so obviously not an upstanding citizen..But evidently neither were deemed credible, so it was denied.
