Anyone here ever done a March for March of Dimes?

Have a friend who does this every year with their son and wife. Their son was born 20 weeks premature at 1pound seven ounces. He's a healthy 7 year old today. My wife and I are thinking about going with our three month old. Anyone ever did a March before? If so, what can we expect other than giving to a great cause?
