I'll be there for 3 days in May of this year. Anybody here on the OT been or have any advice for some must-see/must-do types of things?

The Panama Canal seems like the obvious thing to do, but I have read the city has quite a lot to offer besides that.

I've been to Panama City Beach when I was in college. Sluts are everywhere during the spring time

Yes, I enjoyed it. Good food and beer.

Check out a special place called "Elite" if you like Columbian ladies.

Just got back from an 8 day trip. Went all over the city and even got outside of the city for a bit.

That's my rambling in another thread from yesterday. If you're only there for 3 days, I'd just stick to the city and hit the major touristy stuff. Canal was cool, but overrated. If you are trying to save coin, you can take the metro for next to nothing all the way to albrook and then uber it to the canal.

It's been many years since I've been but try the ceviche as an appetizer if you like fish and lemon. So good. Plenty of pretty women if you go out to the night clubs

Thanks Ocean Sounds like it's don't use the cabs and use normal common sense and you should be ok there. I am looking forward to it!

I used the cabs with my 5 and 3 year old. That place is very safe. Women are fuego

I'm sure not all cabs are bad/unsafe. But some don't take cards. Some will try and rip you off. And uber is much safer, less expensive, and more convenient.

If you stay in the touristy areas, Panama City is pretty damn safe. It's definitely not safe in certain areas.

You'll have a good time

My dad was stationed at Albrook back in around 1980. My oldest brother was born there. Hence I'll eventually get around to visiting. The old house is still there on "Iguana Road" or something

No shite? Albrook was awesome. Wish we had more time to roam around that area. I'm guessing there are a lot of ex-pat communities there.

Ha ya. My dad had quite the travels. I was born in the UK while the middle brother caught Kansas.

But outside of that he had Vietnam, Philippines, I think Bangkok, Egypt, Cuba, etc.

I'm just trying to catch up and hopefully make some great conversations once I hit places he's been.

He has some Noriega story about his time in Panama but I can't tell when he's full of shite
