Not a college student but not that old either. I pandora a Tupac station from time to time. I really like his music and think he was great. He was more poetic than most rappers I've ever heard. He also mixed thug songs with good times songs.
Notorious BIG was good as well, but slightly less than Tupac for me. Juicey is one of the best rap songs of all time.
ETA: Another reason I don't like BIG as much is Puff Daddy's little "oh", "yeah", "come on" background vocals
