the guy was not afraid to shoulder a weapon or butcher an animal, two things that many NYC liberals of his ilk would never admit to, much less be caught on camera doing such.

This. RIP Mr Bourdain.

You should be relieved, if it made sense to you, you could possibly have a serious problem.

I liked the guy and his work despite many reasons not to (subjective opinion wise). Very sad to learn this news.

I knew he had a dark side and/or past struggles but damn he was really at a pinnacle. Can you imagine getting paid and celeb status for going all over the world to soak in the food and culture!!

While the show Top Gear inspired me to travel the world, Anthony Bourdain took that inspiration to another level. His ability to connect with far flung communities and allow them to tell their stories was a light for me and so many. He asked pithy questions and represented the U.S. overseas with sophistication. It’s worth mentioning that I would be a full-time vegetarian instead of a part-time vegetarian if it wasn’t for him.

It would seem that a man with arguably the coolest job in the world, who got to know the world so well- rejected the world. I do not see it that way. Anthony was traveling 200 days out of the year and stated that he felt like he didn’t have a home. Traveling is great, though having balance in life is better. I wish he would have stepped back, pursued balance, and gotten some help. He will be missed.

Pretty sure it was a "sex accident" like David Carradine and the INXS singer.

watching "layover" with anthony bourdain for the los angeles episode and he seems really intrigued and happy riding around in the tour bus with the guide explaining celebrity deaths of the past.
