Sean Payton hates the run game and you're in denial if you think otherwise. This started back in '06. The Saints beat Philly with the run game but it wasn't because they pounded it out. Deuce was under 20 carries but he just ripped off those 20+ yarders that add up to the 100 yd game. The next week against Chicago (who was gutted by the run the previous week against Seattle) Deuce only touched the ball about 6-8 times.
A back needs carries to get into a rythm. When you only touch the ball 6-8 times speratically throughout a game you'll most likely only end up with around 3 ypc and you've cut down on the chances you have to rip off a 20+ yd run.Unless any of the Saints' backs average 20+ ypc none of them are going over 100. Payton doesn't let anyone get the carries.
frick Sean Payton and frick Reggie Bush. If they're so fricking awesome then tell me how they're any different from Haslett and Brooks. Hard-headed coach and underachieving player. At this point under Haslett the Saints record and fan sentiment were almost identical.

Absolutely. Payton cost us our first Super Bowl by abandoning the run in Chicago.
Deuce was SLICING that weak defense in the 3rd quarter just like Alexander did the week before.

Our O-line pass blocking >>>> Our O-line run blocking
Makes a bigger difference for guys like Reggie who need the holes to be obvious and wide open. Deuce can just plug away and run over defenders in the gaps. Reggie cannot. That's why it "works" better with Deuce or PT a lot of the time.

it's true, the O-line sucks in run protection. the pass protection is not bad, but that is mostly brees throwing quick and getting away.

The O-Line not being able to run block is bullshite. The Saints ran the ball 18 times Sunday (and one was a fricking reverse on 3rd and 1). There is no rythm developed when you only run the ball 4.5 times a quarter. Pierre Thomas was the "feature back" and he only saw 11 carries. That's 2.75 carries a quarter. That's a little over 1 carry per drive. How the hell do we know the O-Line can't run block if they never get a chance.
