I'm very surprised that there are a number of posters here saying that a kick from the eleven yardline for the win was wrong and that we should have continued snapping the ball to Brees and run some more or even throw the ball. It was the right call wrong performance.

My wife made the right call. She said on 1st down we should have at the least centered the ball with Brees and then kick. She said this before the kick. Props to the ol lady

that takes up for refs every time someone brings up a shite call

I never said it wasn't a bad call. I just don't like blaming the refs when its a lack of execution that costs teams games.

I've read some of your posts and I think you have a flawed concept of momentum, i.e.
quote:

I would have kept rollin toward the end zone.

our previous two runs resulted in Ivory being met in the backfield. Brees converted that 1st down on his second screen pass of the drive and was still close to being hit on the backside. Pierre Thomas looked like he was going to have to be carted off the field at the end of regulation and Ivory had already coughed one up. Their D-line whipped the Saints arse in the trenches all game long. Its pretty biased to say 'we were rolling'. Why take the chance instead of kicking from there?

I'm not sure you can find a head coach who wouldn't kick the ball in that situation, and i challenge you to find a source where an expert says that Payton made the wrong decision. There's a reason why Sean Payton makes millions and has a superbowl ring while you post on a message board and fund his salary purchasing gear and attending games(assuming you have), and its because he's a better football coach.

I'm not saying fire Hartley, and i don't think SP will yet, but the apologists cannot deny that he blew it in the end.

I'll talk to you the same way if I'm behind a keyboard or face to face. I'll talk to you like a 5 year old so you might have chance to understand. Although I probably need crayons and pictures for you to grasp a concept you little kidergartner.

JM3 hate to point out the team had moved the ball 50 yards in 7 plays, that my friend is rolling along.
Agree though you have to kick it there.

I'm not arguing we didn't move the ball my friend. I'm just pointing out that we weren't slashing them at will like the opposition seems to believe. I trust the offense, don't get me wrong. But no one should believe it would have been a cakewalk to let the offense put it in the endzone either. Regardless, their is no sense in taking the risk, no matter where the drive started
