We can all accurately predict at least one game this year: Week 4 at Miami in London. We also know the bye week will take place in Week 5.

The other games, however, remain a mystery. The most predictable week may be Week 17. In the last three seasons, the Saints have finished their season on the road, and in the last two of those seasons, they did so in Atlanta. In the last four seasons, the Saints have finished the season against either Tampa Bay or Atlanta.

So, does that mean we can predict that the Saints will play Carolina at home to close out the season?

The only hold up to what would seem to be an obvious prediction is that the Sugar Bowl will be played the Saturday night before at 7:30pm. Will the Superdome staff be able to clean up the aisles and concourses and change the field turf text in time for a noon Sunday kickoff? I have no precedents to be able to say they can, but I'm sure there were some Saturday night Tulane kickoffs that didn't prevent Saints games that were scheduled just 14 hours later.

2013 Week 17: vs Tampa
2014 Week 17: at Tampa
2015 Week 17: at Atlanta
2016 Week 17: at Atlanta

2017 Week 17? Gotta be a home game, right?

Gotta be a game against any NFC South team other than Atlanta or Tampa, right?

I realize this joke was made at my expense, but wow that's timed perfectly.

So the Miami game officially counts as an away game and not a home game?

Yes, it counts as an away game.

Saints caught a break here. There will probably be more Saints fans than Miami fans at Wembley.

I just wish the London game could have been against Buffalo or Green Bay which would have taken away a potential cold weather game, but hey, at the end of the day:

Home Games---8
Away Games---7

There's no way the Saints play a home game on Dec 31st.

The Sugar Bowl is Dec 30th at 7:30pm, which means they won't be able to get everyone out until midnight. That gives you less than 10 hours for the cleanup/turf crew to get a stadium ready for a 12pm (most likely kickoff will be 12pm) game. No way this is logistically possible!

And don't use the Tulane scenario when Tulane games were still being played in the Dome, a Saturday night/Sunday noon turnaround for a Tulane game is completely different than a Sugar Bowl/Saints turnaround.

This isn't Tulane, man. This is the Sugar Bowl!!!

The upcoming Sugar Bowl will be played Jan 1st, 2018, so your argument is moot.
