Taysom Hill bringing the Rocky Mountains into the fold of the Who Dat Nation

I'm guessing a lot of the orange is because the home team plays noon games themselves.
Otherwise I'd think AFC south would flip to us and the Vikes to their division rivals.

It was a good run... 5 straight games broadcast in Houston

kinda surprised Houston gets Rams/Cardinals instead of Giants/Seahawks
assuming Texans play at noon on Sunday... which would be the reason why the Fox affiliate in Houston can't show a noon game on a Fox singleheader day

Gotta check my Sling VPN and see if I can get the game here in Virginia.

Genuine question, how does the NFL decide these things?

I believe it's up to the local networks which games they want to carry.

Getting the Saints in San Antonio is nice.

Yeah, they play at noon also. I'm guessing because Rams/Cardinals is the better matchup?

local affiliate decides which game it believes will pull in viewers
the 1 main rule is the affiliates in a NFL market can NOT immediately oppose the local team on another network if that network doesn't have the doubleheader that week
for example... CBS has the doubleheader this week... so WWL-TV in NOLA will have a game showing at noon this week while the Saints are playing on Fox 8
but if Fox had the doubleheader this week... WWL-TV would be restricted to 1 of the 2 CBS late games... Patriots @ Chargers or Eagles @ Packers (PHI/GB would probably be the easy choice for WWL)

but... Giants... NFC LEast race... I'm assuming there's still a buttload of Cowboys fans in Houston

Kenny Albert and Jonathan Vilma are calling our game

Minnesota doesn't even want to see Det/Chi
ETA: playoff implications in rams/cards for them as well.

goes back to the "if you have the singleheader, you can't show a game while the home team is on the other network" rule
MIN @ JAX is on CBS @ noon Sunday... so Minny Fox channel can't show DET/CHI @ noon Sunday

Yes, but they HAVE to show the local team if the tickets are selling out. I forget the % but it may be below 90% capacity before they can black it out.
Most often they try to show division or playoff relevant games for the home team, but sometimes they just go with what's deemed the best game, especially if the home team is out of the playoffs.

blackout rule was lifted several years ago

Meaning they have to show the home town team or they don't?
I remember talk of it but never saw the outcome.
