In the past, key pieces like Roman Harper and Jahiri Evans were acquired in separate draft trade downs.

Our roster being stacked is more of a reason to trade than it is to trade up. For one, you can get the same kind of player at say pick 40 that you can get at 24, all while picking up an extra pick. Secondly, those picks can still be a key contributors to a playoff team. Third, we have arguably been more successful identifying talent in the mid to later rounds than we have been at finding talent at the top end
