Hard to run another play when the ref is fumbling the ball around with 15 seconds on the clock

They had one timeout. Payton thought Drew was going to spike it, but it took too long so he called a timeout. Then the refs screwed on taking too long to place the ball for the next play. Armchair qb's are unreal

I was referring more to the spike situation where we burned our last timeout

Yeah, hard spot to take that TO right there, especially considering it came so long after the play was over. Clock management there was poor, no doubt.
