Saunders isn't making this team, he's got one skill and that's returning kicks. The Saints have Murphy, Cooks, Morgan and Spiller capable of returning kicks.

Either Jones or Coleman will be the Saints #3 WR after camps over. Both look good this off-season

Saunders is better than Cooks(he actually sucks at it), Morgan, and Spiller at returning kicks. Like everyone, I think that Murphy can do it...but if he cant, then Saunders is our guy. It's Murphy vs. Saunders(I think the loser gets put on the PS). Spiller is an ok kick returner for his age.

You cant say he sucks at it when the entire return game has been horse shite the past couple of season's. If Saunders makes this team he's going to have to make it as a productive WR who can return kicks, not a returner who's not a productive WR.

I agree that Cooks isn't a great returner. But, special teams as a whole has sucked lately, so it could be that as well.

Edit: just noticed tzimme4s posted while I was typing.

Did you see our return game at the end of last year when Saunders was returning? It was actually quite pleasant. Cooks sucked at Oregon State at returning and he sucked last year for the Saints. Saunders is a damn good returner that has a lot of work to do as slot WR. Bottom line is that it's either Murphy or Saunders. We have nobody else.

Not that it matters, but Saunders was fourth fiddle in the return game during OTAs and mini-camp. Everything I hear and see is he's definitely the odd man out.

Bad news for him, b/c all he has is the return game...I assume that Murphy will be a decent 3rd down back.

True, but there is potential. Call me crazy, but I believe in them. We just need 1 or 2 to step up.

Saunders' return numbers were eye-popping end of last season.

Who derailed a thread on the status and quality of our current WR's? And yes. Any fool can see the better the QB the better the WR's can be.
Brees is our QB. He led the NFL in comp % last year. So whats your point about our current crop of WR's?

Nobody so far but you're just being a little baby right now.

That doesn't mean our offense wasn't struggling at times last year when he has better weapons.

They're over the hill-ish, unproven, and Cooks(who's also kind of unproven).

So the offense struggling falls 100% on Brees?
