Well that's funny since we own the record book.

If the Falcons can't win the Super Bowl in '13 they are facckked. Old as dirt by NFL standards at key spots.

Prisco (a Failcons fan no less) raises a good point:

This time, it's different. Jackson is older. He'll turn 30 in July, which is ancient for a running back.

Jackson ran for 1,042 yards last season for the Rams, and his per-carry average was 4.1. Not bad, especially behind a line that wasn't very good. He has 2,395 carries on that body, which is a lot.

Here's something else that would concern me: He averaged 4.4 yards per rush on carries 1-10 in a game and 3.7 on carries 11-20. That's telling to me.

If you monitor his reps he'll be a very good pick up.

Is 1000 yard rusher really hard to do in a 16 game season? That's just over 62 yards a game. He averages a respectable 4.1 ypc but will be 30 when the year starts. He has almost 2900 career touches. He's had neck surgery and multiple lower extremity injuries. I'm not going to presume that he will be ineffective, but I wouldn't expect a ton. He should be a decent stopgap for a year or maybe 2 at the most.

He can't be worse than Turner trying to score from the 2 yard line time after time after time after time and failing.

Don't forget the chronic quad/back spasms he suffers from.

The Falcon's have next season to make a run; after that, they will be in worse cap shape than you can imagine.

Matt Ryan's contract come up at the end of this coming season. He's the next $20 Mill man. And it gets worse from there, J. Jones comes up the next year and I expect he's going to be asking for Fitz type money (he won't get it but he'll be in the Top 5 money makers as a WR). That's when habitat destruction takes place, which is the leading cause of death for Falcons!

Lose entire defense....check

Funny how when Dunta Robinson and John Abraham play for ATL they are old and suck. Then they get cut and they become the "entire defense".

So Michael Turner runs for 200 yds less but has 6 more TDs than Jackson's 4 TDs. I know Jackson was a great player but Turner was not to bad either if compared. His average yards was 3.6.

That is the point. It's not like he rams where he will have zero help. We all hate the birds but lets be real, he could be a major piece for them if used correctly. You can disagree but he is a upgrade over turner
