He's not deserving of a fake honor?

Does this really make sense in your head? It's condescending to him to award him a fake ring when his former teammates are awarded legitimate ones. It would be a constant reminder that he was kicked off the team before he was able to achieve something great.

What ever was the reason EJ got one would be good enough for me.

I dont know. Just because they did it does it mean every organization should? I think it was stupid they did it, too.

I agree. For what he's done, it would make much more sense to do something like retiring his number than giving him a "fake" ring.

Then again, I'm still not so sure that he's done enough to warrant his number being retired.

No ring for Deuce.

He's lucky Benson let him get his paycheck last year for hobbling around the sideline like an over the hill mascot.

That was the Saints' gift to Deuce.

I love it, I appreciate what Deuce did but I got so tired of hearing everyone yelling for him last year. Dude had two busted knees it was time to go.

Idk if this has been said but don't you think giving a former player a ring is almost like a slap in the face to said player???

It could easily be interpreted as "Have this ring we won without you, but we are giving it to you because we feel sorry you."

I'm pretty sure that everyone here agrees that Deuce's time and effort here is certainly appreciated and admired by every player, coach, and fan in this city.

I think it's also agreed that if Deuce could contribute in some way to this team this year, we would welcome his presence.

Well I think, even if he can't play, his presence in the locker room and on the sidelines would be a contribution to this team down the stretch. I'm not sure what would technically make him a part of the team and thus ring-eligible (if NO won the rings), but I have a feeling the organization would do whatever is necessary to put Deuce in that number.

(assuming he's not on another team by then)
