re: Saints improve to rank second-to-last in cap space after Erik McCoy contract restructure

I’ve watched the Saints since 1997. It’s okay to acknowledge we have had successful years since then.

It’s also okay to admit this this has been run into the ground the last season or so.

Even in those good years we were setting ourselves up for future failure by paying top dollar to guys like Peat and Woke Arse Malcolm Jenkins (who ruined Drew’s last season) while letting guys go like Vonn Bell and Trey Hendrickson.

I’m not ready to say last year‘a draft was good. Pick 16 couldn’t get on the field. Pick 11 was a massive overpay for a #2 type receiver. Olave was decent this year, but if he cleaned up drops and fumbles, we win 10-11 games this season. And when you trade everything for a guy you kind of need him to make those Ja’Marr or JJ type plays and impact.

Also, hyping up the fact that we were competitive last year is crazy. We came in last place in probably the worst division in football in the last 2 decades.

We lost the last game of the year to a QB that threw for basically 20 yards all game even though he dropped back to pass 40 times. (Another game Olave cost us, as well as our overpaid, broken kicker).

Im not hyping this shite up and nobody should. We are a goddamn disaster and we didn’t even get a top 10 pick or chance at an elite QB to help reset.

We are stuck in no man’s land.
