people judged his entire career off of preseason games when he was clearly hurt?

No one knew he was hurt until late in the season when he hadn't dressed out for 14 games.

also hist first few catches were not against scrubs.

Not scrubs, but it was against 2nd teamers. His really good over the shoulder catch was against some white safety who got abused by Meach and Arrington.

Meachem has the tools to be a good pro receiver. Now that he's healthy, he will have to put them to use and prove himself at this level. I watched him enough at TN that I saw the talent. He should have come back for one more year in college instead of coming out early though IMO. Not just because I drink the urnge kool-aid, but because he needed another year to mature and could have benefitted from Cutcliffe & staff's tutelage.

I think he did himself a favor by becoming a Saint instead of staying a Volunteer.

This guy could really help us if he lives up to his ability... We are probably going to be potent at the WR/ TE position... Our running game is going to need to improve but I am hopeful... Breeze just looks so confident right now and looks determined not to have the slow start like he had last year...

Yea, he probably could have used another year in the SEC, but he was a 1st-round draft pick and that's pretty much impossible to pass up.

I was not a fan of him at Tenn or when we drafted him. I have definitely had my complaints about him, but I have said coming into this year I'll keep my mind open about him. And heck if he keeps playing like he did last night I'll definitely eat some crow and not care at all.

that really was the worst attempt at a tackle i've ever seen...but he made two really nice moves, like you said...

either way, it's gotta be encouraging to the coaching staff and fans to see that last night...i know it gives me a little more hope for him this season...

G, I didnt get to watch the game "zoned in" as I usually do. People on the rant radio show today were saying Stinch was getting owned as well as Goodwin. What was the deal with that?

same ol' same ol' with the o-line...they did really well in terms of pass blocking, but when it came time to get down and dirty in the trenches, they seemed to kinda disappear...

Stinch has always sucked, but I didn't see any glaring weaknesses by Goodwin but then again I was watching extremely close or anything either...

Goodwin was struggling. He wasn't stinch bad but its still an area of concern. I'm not overly worried because he did play pretty well last year

yeah... especially hearing what drew has to say about him... granted, he's not gonna throw him under the bus or anything but he seems to think there's not going to be a drop-off in play @ center this year...
