Might be. I just don't remember it that way. We have some folks on here that say: "Hell, __________ (you fill in the blank with a player's name) is out there, we should sign him." It's not based upon knowledge, or fit in the system, or regards to the salary cap. It's because they heard the name.

I truly don't remember a single person, who has half a brain, say: "What a great signing; and to think we re-signed him to only Top 5 money".

a lot of people including me said let Grant go, Loomis pushed the panic button, but even still McCray wasn't worth the 25 mil I think he gave him, McCray deserved what he signed Alex Brown to.

don't make me laugh, a great safety changes opposing QB's gameplans and good to great RB's are franchise players in most cases

you know nothing about the NFL

there are about 3-4 elite positions in the NFL right now; QB, LT, and DE...you can maybe add CB

safety is NOT an elite position, neither is RB. Look no further than the draft, how many safeties ever go top 10? And you can make a case for never drafting a RB in the first round, I mean wasn't Pierre an UDFA himself??? The shelf life for RBs these days and the fact that every team uses a 2-3 back system makes paying a lot to one RB a bad investment

you're dumb

you johnny come latelys on here always make me lmao

if DE was so elite why was NDamukong Suh so sought after, it's because a game changing DT like that is just as valuable as a game changing DE.

and I never said the safety position was elite, idiot, I said great, and Sharper was great in his prime, he picked off a lot of top QB's and will be a HOF'er. I said the RB position is the glamour, elite position in the NFL, almost as valuable as the QB.

and to say a RB in the NFL is not an elite position is completely assinine, you just insulted probably half the Pro Footbal Hall of Fame members.

Pointless man, pointless. You're trying to convince Columbus that the world is actually round. Not going to happen in this life or the next. It's also hilarious that apparently the longer you hang around on ST, the smarter you are at the game of football and the business aspect as well. Guess we need to be here quite a bit more.

you don't think a great RB has the power to change a game like a QB?

idiots who dont realize the NFL in 2010 is a passing league make me laugh

quote:

because suh is a great player and better than any DE available this year, that doesnt change the fact more DE's have been taken in the first round the last 10 years than DT's...and even a majority of the DT's taken were 3-4 niche players...DT is important, ill give you that, but you aint convincing noooobody its more important than a pass rusher, sorry

quote:

I said great, and Sharper was great in his prime, he picked off a lot of top QB's and will be a HOF'er.

so why does that justify paying him a lot of money in 2010? sharper had a great 2009, no doubt, but just isnt smart to bank on him having a couple more great season, no way

quote:

I said the RB position is the glamour, elite position in the NFL, almost as valuable as the QB.

this is absurd on so many levels...RB's are a dime a dozen, we hear about a late round pick or undrafted guy breaking out every damn year, kinda like pierre thomas. to compare RB to QB is so retarded...you can win without an elite RB, you cannot win without an elite QB, period.

this has nothing to do with pro football in 2010. you have to be able to throw the ball, rush the passer, and protect the passer- FACT

here is why your argument sucks arse in one paragraph, the Saints was completely a passing team in 2008 and what happened? you'll probably fumble around for an answer.

but look at the difference this past season when the stable of good backs was combined with the passing. A topflight RB like an AP or Cris Johnson can eat up a clock, make the chains move, and breakoff long td runs, completely wear down a defense to open it up for the passing game.

school is out!

Ask Chris Johnson how the postseason went last year for him, tubby.

If it annoys you, leave the thread alone. It's not difficult. You don't wanna talk to me, that's fine. Don't. I promise I won't lose sleep over it. Thanks for dragging this into tiger rant territory tubby, you're awesome.

No one ever said a running game isn't valuable, it's the guys doing it, you can find any crumbum to run the ball...you're essentially telling me Pierre Thomas is as valuable to the saints as drew brees, and I laugh ay that

and you wanna use peterson and johnson as examples? Ok, the Vikings entire season hinges on Brett favre, a QB I mind you, returning...and the titans weren't worth a shite last year, because they didn't have a, a, a....wait for it, waaaaaiiiiiit for it,.....a QUARTERBACK!!!!!!1
