Only time I sat was when we were on offense.Otherwise I stood up and cheered to show my support for my home team.I think the sitters (bandwagoners)need to stay home and SIT on their sofas and watch the game.I guess next we should get all the Saints benchwarmers to sit down on the bench instead of standing and cheering on their teammates.

I'm pretty sure that your standing made a huge difference in the score
So, whether I stand or sit doesn't make a difference in the outcome?
Good, so it doesn't matter, don't bitch if someone stands then.
Thanks for clearing that up.

You are definitely the a-hole! Who the frick do you think you are?
You got that right, I am DEFINITELY an a-hole.
And who am I? I'm the type of loud, standing, constantly cheering fan that the team NEEDS in the Dome. The team does NOT need folks who only stand on third downs and "when the game is tight in the 4th qtr".
Who are you?

Im going to be loud and courteous at the same time.
Your first post suggests that those who stand are being discourteous to those who do not stand. You are pressuring us "standing fans" to sit because it alters your game experience. Which infers that YOUR game experience is more important than those of us who stand. This principle (inferred or not) is what I disagree with. You are the one who believes that your way is better. We believe that our way is not only better, but is preferred by the players and coaches, and there for, is correct.
Have a good time at the game.

Where were all you loud guys the Saints NEED during all the down years? The years where you could hear pins drop, and not one person in the Dome was cheering.
I was there, I was bullshitting with the rest of the poor souls subjected to the football being played.
But, I guess I dont have the same assertion that the team NEEDED us to cheer to be better.
For those of you with that assertion, what were you doing for a couple of decades?
I hold the belief that a great product on the field puts loud supportive fans in the seats, not the other way around. And I have been proven correct.
So you all that think you need to be inconsiderate, block the view of those around you, and stand the whole game carry on. But dont pretend like the success the Saints are having has a whole lot to do with you yelling.
Cause if you hold onto the belief that you are NEEDED...you owe your team an apology for past lack of support.

Wrong thread.

After a big play, or for a big play on defense.....but I do not stand just to stand.

You must not see much LSU football then.
Living in NOLA, I've been to more LSU games than most non-LSU fans and more than I'd care to remember, and I'll say that I've never been to a game where the people all around me were not standing the entire game. It's actually kind of nice because it helps shield me from the authorities when I'm mixing up.

I stand when we're on defense(mostly just 3rd downs), kick offs, punts, and if our offense is in the redzone. Other than than I dont just stand for the hell of it, there has to be a reason for me standing. I'm usually pretty considerate of the people behind me being that I'm sitting on the 4th row in the plaza.

If you're rationalizing cursing in front of someone else's kid as "being a true fan", you may want to take a breath and rethink what it means to be a fan.
Standing and screaming is one thing. Taking the "bring your kids at your own risk" attitude is another.
Sucks to get tickets for the family and then find out that you're sitting next to a guy that curses like a twelve year old on his first camping trip without the folks.

You know, if you parented you child in such a manner that he/she understands that the rest of the world is wide and varied. And that some people (you and your family) think cursing is da debil and will result in a fiery eternity in hell, and that others think it's just a way to release frustrations in an emotionally charged environment. I parent my family to know and expect it. To over look it and to know that I will NOT tolerate it from my children. Kids aren't stupid. When you make something out to be a HUGE, GARGANTUAN deal, they will focus on it. When you teach them that it's present, and that they are expected to ignore it, they will. If you have kids, I'm sure you've done this before. They get focused on something you'd rather they didn't focus on. Distract them, pretend it's not a big deal and they will lose interest. Make it out as a huge deal and something that you change your entire attitude/plan for, and they will continue to obsess about it.
Kids are GOING to cuss. Unless they are never allowed to participate in public situations, they WILL learn 4 letter words. It's a fact. You can choose to make it a super huge, awful, unbelievable, "let's get up and leave in the first quarter" type of reality, or you can teach your kids that because they hear those words in public, does NOT mean they get to use them.
It's not hard brother.

I was in section 127 and we stood the whole time

I can understand not standing for offense because we want the o to be able to communicate and concentrate on the scoring TD's but on D kickoffs or punt returning opportunities there is no way anybody should be sitting down for the 1st ever NFC Championship game in the DOME! The Noise disrupts their offense and the communication for their offense making us the 12th man. If you ever been on the field while the noise is going on its is definitely an advantage for the home team.
OPR keep it up my friend will us to victory

i agree that everyone should really be standing during playoff games.......
but.....
I sit in the first row of the loge and I don't generally stand the whole time because I pretty much force the whole section to stand behind me if I do so.
People can choose to stand or not stand behind me, I just feel its pretty discourteous to force everyone's decision (we have alot of old ppl in my section who can't stand for an hour at a time. they deserve to see this just as much, if not more than the next guy.)
