So is Jenkins.

Hicks is definitely a beast. A true load that eats up blockers and gets pressure.

Jenkins looked solid as a rook last year when he wasn't hurt. But IMO, he didn't show me that he can be effective as a 3 down DT just yet. We need rotation along side of Hicks.

He is as a pass rusher. But there is a HUGE difference between Bunkley being one dimensional and Jenkins. One is 30+ and the other is just starting his pro career while showing some potential that he can develop.

I do agree that I'm not sure he is fully ready to be a 3 down guy(which is what I also said when everyone penciled him in over Bunkley as soon as we drafted him), but he doesn't have to be with how we rotate and other guys like Hicks and Walker able to play in the middle of the line.

While I would like Bunkley to take a pay cut and stay, if he doesn't cutting him is the right thing to do.

Who Jenkins?? 2 sacks in a season would be a success

Jenkins will never be a 3 down player.

He is a 2 down run stopper who will likely be more known for getting double teamed. Nothing wrong with that bc he was a 3rd round pick.

Lance Moore was but age and injuries are catching up to him.

I would hate to see PT leave but now is the time to commit to Ingram or let him go and keep PT while drafting his replacement.

I wonder how much could be saved by trading colston. I know it will not happen but we have some young WR's this is a very heavy draft with WR's, and you never know about FA's.

I would love to see what Brees could do with

Stilles, Anquan, decker, Edelman, Morgan.

Oh and get trindon to replacs Sproles.

Saints can't afford Anquan, Decker and Edelman.

He's not though. I also thought that given his size. But all the scouting reports, Payton, and watching him play says he is a much better pass rusher than run stuffer.

I think the PFF numbers also bear this out(I'll have to find the threads).

You're making the same mistake I did by judging him because of his size.

Edit:
That's not to say his size doesn't help him take up space which definitely helps in the run game. But he still needs work on shedding blocks and making tackles in the run game.

This year? We'd actually lose cap room.

He actually played a decent amount of (3-4) DE at UGA. He's really athletic for his size. Not disagreeing that he'll never be a 3 down player, but I could see him maxing out at 4 sacks for a few years as he becomes more experienced. If Bunk doesn't take a pay cut, I'm for letting him go. Jenkins and Hicks can split the 0/1 tech NT duties when we play the 3-4 or 3-3 fronts with Foster and Walker splitting 3-4 DE duties across from Jordan. Hicks, Jenkins, Foster, and Walker will be fine rotating in the middle when we play 4 man fronts. Letting Bunkley go will change my "don't draft a DL unless they're the best player available by a sizable margin" stance, though.

I keep reading your name as "Graham money."

I'd say he has a ~60% chance of being cut, but he won't be the next. They're going to see what happens during the draft and if they get a guy that they think can contribute immediately, I think it happens.

Jenkins does push the pocket and help out the edge rushers. Bunkley holds his ground.

I hope they figure something out to the positive here...one of the things I really liked about our defense this past season was the depth along the defensive line specifically at tackle
