Never Forget

This is prompted by a lot of the negativity I witnessed Saturday night at the dome. I saw a lot of new faces in some seats, many of them newfound fans with deep pockets. They seemed utterly crushed, particularly the bald man with "14-0" painted on the back of his head.
It's Christmas time, and I can't express how wonderful the past 4 seasons have been. 2006 was more than I asked for, 2007 was fun, 2008 was satisfactory and exciting. 2009 has already proven to be THE year!
I do remember attending the 4 games in Tiger Stadium... vividly. They were the most depressing games I have ever witnessed. We had 4 "home games," with the remaning 3 being played in San Antonio... San Antonio wanted the Saints. The "Saints" (Benson) wanted San Antonio.
On top of friends and family losing everything they had, we had to worry about our Saints moving. These were emotional games.... losing all 4 home games, finishing 3-13, Katrina recovery, uncertain future....
All I can say is I am glad I made that emotional investment.
I will never forget Being In THAT Number.... which makes these times all the more enjoyable.

I was there. I thought it was important to be there even though the season was lost, just to show that we wanted and would support the Saints. I am glad the NFL and Benson made the right choice. frick SA for trying to poach our team.

Thank THIS man....
Should put a statue of him outside the dome or something....

Agreed... Benson too. Many fans kiss arse now, but I will never forget him or Joe Horn talking shite in the midst of tragedy.

Here here Ween! I remember growing up, always thinking the Saints were going to have a great year. When you are a boy (I'm 44 now) the grass is always greener, but, it was the passion of every Saints fan that made you think next year was the year. Our passion and love for the Saints is truely something to marvel over. This team has been such a huge part of everyones lives for so many years. People like displacedhorn and many others like him won't admit it, but, for the most part they envy our passion and love for our Saints. Our fanbase is loyal to the core. There are many teams to be admired for their success Dallas, Pittsburg, San Fran, New England, but, our fanbase is second to none.

I attended a game in Tiger Stadium as well. Very dark days indeed. But Katrina recharged my battery of being a Saints fan. Its as full as ever.

I attended two Saints games at Tiger Stadium. It was just so miserable. I'm glad someone made this post because some of the newer fans tend to forget how bad things were for the Saints in 2005. But somehow they fought through it.

Carolina was worse. There were probably only a few thousand people in the stands. I bought crappy seats and walked down to row 5.
This season is awesome and I don't know anyone who "expected" us to go undefeated. I'm extatic as a fan who has seen some dismal days.
WHO DAT!!!
