Radio and TV are synced up so I thought I would give him a try to see of he has gotten any better - he hasn't. Does not have a clue what is happening on the field. That is all.

Not just anyone can do play by play. He’s a lifelong reporter being shoehorned into PBP. You get better with reps, which are best performed on a smaller stage. By the time you get to the NFL, you should be solid.
It’s an insult to Saints fans that the last two PBP guys were Strief and Hoss, two guys learning on the job. The NFL isn’t the place to learn on the job.

Deke was a host, not a PBP guy. And he’s sucked royally as a host. He can barely speak English.
