Yeah if anyone can make him look good it's Brees on a seam route. But I'd rather a more complete and polished guy that Brees can help make look fantastic.

Yeah I'd prefer Matthews out of the 2. I really just want to give Brees a shiny new toy.

Not a fan of this pick if it goes down. Not a fan of Lee either. Mayock said it best about Lee: really break his tape down and then say he's a first-round pick? I think he's going to be bust. Everyone was all over his big year 2 years ago. TBH though, you could insert any WR in this offense and as long as they're competent enough to run routes and get separation with decent hands, Brees gonna get it to you.

Who would this guy replace in our offense? Colston? I know he's aging and probably gone after this year but this offense is lacking a vertical threat more than anything. I'm hoping Beckham falls to us but probably not. I think we could pick a good big WR up later in the draft go with the playmaker deep threat in the first. I was hoping teams would overlook Beckham but it doesn't appear it's happening. I felt he was underrated based on the type of offense LSU ran.

And that's my problem with Lee. I know he has one of those but his hands are an issue(even before last year) and I haven't seen him run much outside of crossers(which he does extremely well at the college level). Separation is the only + I see with him. High potential but huge risk.

And despite his quick acceleration he doesn't have elite top end speed and has poor change of direction.

Kelvin is pretty much Jimmy Graham as a WR. Will probably get stoned at the LOS by a lot of the more physical DBs and drops easy catches at times.

However with a good QB he's gonna make some highlight catches that many others won't make. Despite the 40 time, if he gets a clean get off he can beat you deep from time to time.

That's the thing, if you just watch his film and forget about the other stuff like combine numbers, you would think he would be a monster for the Saints. He's such a big target and is great at high pointing the ball.

Right. He has deceptively good game speed despite what the 40 says.

Remember that 40s are run without pads and bigger guys can usually carry their pads better. And he is a big guy.

I liked Mayock's description on Lee. You see what he said other day. I agree with him 100% and he actually broke his film down and showed why he thinks he's overrated. He thinks a lot of people are riding the Lee hype from 2 years ago and overlooking glaring flaws he has as a WR.

It's gotta be all this Jimmy Graham talk that has his name come up.

On Benjamin, I've seen him and there are things to like, but also things I don't like. Size is obviously a plus so that puts him higher, but he's still very much a work in progress.

As for Lee, I think too many people are caught up in his raw numbers 2 years ago and not actually how he got them and how many targets it took.

He was definitely a baller but you have to question if his combine numbers will stunt him in the NFL. Being deceptive in college and beating you deep and doing it in the NFL are two totally different levels. He kinda reminds you of Landry in that you should just forget his combine and look at the tape. You will see a football player with a lot of production. I'm not a big fan of this pick but I wouldn't hate it. The main reason I'm not a fan of the pick is because I feel we have a bigger need at WR and they have those needs available there that are arguably better value than him.

Also while not that important in the grand scheme of things it should be noted that he's 23 and still is very much a work in progress in terms of a route runner, etc.

Right. He was also playing an offensive conference that's fairly weak defenses where you pad your stats(Lee). It's totally different from a guy like Beckham who sat in a not-so-friendly WR system and had to earn every yard against the best defenses in the country. I was hoping teams would just overlook his production in a run heavy offense in the elite defense conference but it appears teams finally started recognizing what we already knew.

Was this about Lee or Benjamin, because I think it easily applies to both.

Nevermind. Lee is 22.

Benjamin, I admittedly didn't watch many USC games so I have no real opinion on Lee other then he seems like a good athlete.

A 4.6 40 for a guy who is 6'5" 230 lbs is not slow IMO
